I was approached by NAC a few weeks back to quote on the possibility of shooting the Bell 407GX as a direct commission for Bell Helicopters in the USA.
Bell were looking at commissioning their first ever photoshoot on South African soil and myself and Karin Roodt of NAC were quite keen to get Bells’ approval.
Once the quotes and formalities were done, my portfolio reviewed by Bell, I was sent a 27 page brief of what they wanted as well as Bell’s Photography Standards and their safety requirements for the shoot.
It was agreed that we needed two of the best helicopter pilots in the business so Alister Brown of NAC would fly the Jetranger as a cameraship and Andre Coetzee would fly the 407GX. I needed both back doors off of the Jetranger as Bell needed all angles covered.
After a good and solid briefing covering exactly what I needed from each pilot, I was very confident that with these pilots we could get the job done. Needless to say, the shoot went well without any issues and I got the shots I needed.
